Discovering Chase BP Visa Rewards Credit Card

Article by Anthony Samuel

Many people will choose to use a credit card in their lifetimes for the convenience it provides. Credit card access is necessary for many things in this day and age, and not just purchasing. Businesses like movie rental outlets often require a person to show their credit card in order to establish an account. Credit cards operate as both a status symbol and as assurance that the holder can pay off any debt accrued. Furthermore, as the Internet age continues to advance, many people are finding that they can do almost all of their shopping online, as long as they have a valid credit card.

It is important in this environment that the average consumer understands the different types of credit card and the various charges that they use. The case in point for this article is the Chase BP Visa Rewards Card. This type of card is probably one of the best kinds, as not only can it be used like a normal credit card, but the user also has the opportunity to earn cash back on purchases made using the card. The key to saving money through a card such as this is to find out which locations you can earn these rebates at, and what the dollar amount attached to these cards is. BP is the oil company recently made famous through the closing of their Alaskan operations, so it is safe to assume that you can earn the higher rebates when you make fuel purchases at gas chains that carry BP oil. “Eligible Purchases” is the key term here when it comes to determining how much money in rebates you can earn.

Another area to be very careful with when it comes to credit cards is the fees that they charge. Remember, cards will advertise the best qualities when trying to get a potential user to apply, and the Chase BP Visa Rewards Card is no exception. The card advertises an introductory period of six months. During this time, there is no Annual Percentage Rate for purchases. The key to finding out if this card is right for you is to look at what the APR will be AFTER the introductory period expires. In the case of this card, it will be at a rate of 15.24%, 19.24%, or 23.24%.

These APR rates are another way that credit cards have of causing the waters to be a little bit murky. Why the changing APR rates? The reason is that the people in charge of the Chase BP Visa Rewards Card want their users to have the card that offers them the greatest potential of earning profits. Therefore, they will lower the rates for the higher end cards. 15.24% is the APR charged to users of the Elite card, 19.24% to the users of the Premium card, and lowly Standard pricing card users must pay the large 23.24% APR. But there’s still more to notice; Standard pricing users are charged that APR from account opening. In other words, there is no special introductory period where the APR is waived if you only want the card that comes with Standard pricing.

Credit cards are certainly a convenience and even a necessity, and many credit cards offer attractive programs in order to gain users. It is important for potential applicants to pay close attention to all the aspects and fine print that the application entails, though, before making their decision.

Celebrity Tax Expert Roni Deutch Explains the Importance of Mid-Year Tax Planning

Celebrity Tax Expert Roni Deutch Explains the Importance of Mid-Year Tax Planning

North Highlands, CA (Vocus) August 21, 2010

While most Americans are likely concerned with planning summer vacations and pool parties, celebrity tax attorney Roni Deutch is encouraging taxpayers to spend their free time making mid-year tax projections and plans.

“The year is now half over and although most Americans wait until April to think about taxes,” explains The Tax Lady Roni Deutch, “I highly recommend tax planning throughout the year. The summer is a great time to review your finances because you still have nearly half the year to take action to lower your tax liability—such as making changes to your withholdings.”

Listed below is a section of the blog entry titled Mid-Year Tax Planning: The Perfect Summertime Activity that was published on Deutch’s personal blog. To view the full entry, check out The Tax Lady Blog.

Mid-Year Tax Projection

Since the year is half way finished, you can easily estimate what your total income for the year will be. Unless you anticipate a new job, a big bonus, pay increase or are self-employed and unsure of your earnings for the rest of the year, you can simply add up your wages from January through June and double it. Using the 2010 income tax brackets you can then calculate your total federal tax rate. Look to see what you have already paid in federal taxes, and if your total taxes paid is less than half of your yearly tax liability, then you might want to consider adjusting your withholdings or making an estimated tax payment.

Review Your Withholdings

If you are underpaying on your federal taxes, you might want to adjust your withholdings. For wage earning employees, you can simply ask your employer for a new IRS Form W-4. Either change your allowances or have an additional dollar amount withheld from your paychecks. If you have been overpaying the IRS, you might want to change your withholdings to have less taken out of your paychecks. Although you might not get as large of a refund in April, you will have more money in your wallet each month!

Estimated Tax Payments

If you are self-employed or have decent capital gains throughout the year, it is especially smart to calculate your 2010 tax liability. The IRS will assess a penalty if you underpay your taxes, so it might be a good idea to make an estimated tax payment. The most recent quarterly tax payment due date was June 15th, but you can always make a late payment. The next payment is due September 15th. To learn more about estimated tax payments check out this entry on the Roni Deutch Tax Center – Tax Help Blog.

Organize Your Files

When you have a few hours free, it might be a good idea to look over your financial records and tax related documents. Make sure you have documentation for any tax deductions or credits you plan to claim, all of your pay stubs, and receipts for any business or travel expenses you intend to write off. If you are missing any receipts you should try looking for documentation via your credit card or bank statements. This will be easier to do now, instead of six months from now when you might not exactly remember what day it was you took that client out to lunch or where you went.

Give to Charity

Another great way to lower your tax liability is to make charitable contributions. You could donate your winter clothing, as you will not need it in the hot summer weather, or any other household items you no longer need. Additionally, as the BP oil leak continues to spew oil into the Gulf you could make a monetary donation to a group working on the cleanup such as the National Wildlife Foundation.

Will McCain and the Fox Progaganda Machine be able to parlay the BP Oil Spill into a repeal of the Jones Act?

Question by Jeff Lebowski Communist: Will McCain and the Fox Progaganda Machine be able to parlay the BP Oil Spill into a repeal of the Jones Act?
The Republican camp has wanted repeal of the Jones Act for a long time. Repeal of the Jones Act would allow foreign shipping companies to operate port to port in our country, much as Mexican trucking companies would like to do.
Shipping customers would be able to pay lower shipping costs by us allowing rusted out Somalian ships with crews paid $ 5,00 per day to deliver freight.
And repeal of the Jones Act would certainly kill the Seafarers International Union and replace Americans with foreign workers, saving shippers millions of dollars.
And repeal of the Jones Act would take us back to the Good Old Days when a Merchant Marine was injured offshore, he had no means of compensation other than to sue the employer. This would basically stop shipping companies from paying a dime for injuries.
And the Banksters even want it repealed because they are not allow under the Jones Act to charge a Merchant Marine late charges on credit cards if he is away at sea and it is impossible for him to make a payment on time.

I like the concept but I hate your whiny liberal tone.

I suppose you think the Jones Act, one of the most unconstitutional acts known to man, should NOT be repealed?

Baton Rouge Area Foundation Responds to the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Relief Effort

Stroudsburg, PA (PRWEB) September 10, 2010

Stellar Technology Solutions (STS) would like to congratulate the Baton Rouge Area Foundation (BRAF) for its quick and effective response to the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Baton Rouge Area Foundation responded to the disaster in the Gulf by establishing several charitable funds to raise money, advise donors, and write grants for the long-term recovery of the Gulf Coast. Using Stellar’s Giving Opportunities functionality, BRAF was able to establish several new funds on their public website that facilitate online credit card donations from visitors or donors directly to a Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Disaster fund of their choice. The Giving Opportunities capability is fully integrated with BRAF’s back office management system, iPhi CoreEnterprise®. This full integration allows BRAF to receive thousands of online donations that flow seamlessly to their back office for processing, without increasing work for the Foundation staff.

The Foundation’s unique approach to community service and disaster relief has been noticed both nationally by Steven Colbert who created The Colbert Nation Gulf of America Fund and federally by BP who donated $ 100 million to create The Gulf Coast Restoration and Protection Foundation, at the request of President Obama, to assist in providing hardship grants to the rig workers.

According to Kevin Lyle, a BRAF representative, “We are committed to both the environmental and economic recovery efforts in the region, and have established funds to target specific facets of that long-term process. We also take very seriously our responsibility, through our supporting organization, to distribute the funds donated by BP to those rig workers who suffered financial hardship from the deepwater drilling moratorium imposed after the spill. As always, our donors have been very generous in responding to this disaster, and our task every day is to earn that trust and work to improve our community and region.”

“Assisting BRAF in quickly responding to a critical environmental and community destabilizing event is something we were willing and able to do because of the capability and flexibility of our community foundation software solution”, states Bryan Mileger CEO of Stellar Technology Solutions.

Alex Jones: 50 Random Facts on What in The Hell Happened to America 1/2

50 Random Facts That Make You Wonder What In The World Has Happened To America The Economic Collapse July 4, 2010 Our world is changing at a pace that is so staggering these days that it can be really hard to fully grasp the significance of what we are witnessing. Hopefully the collection of random facts below will help you to “connect the dots” just a little bit. On one level, the facts below may not seem related. However, what they all do have in common is that they show just how much the United States has fundamentally changed. Do you ever just sit back and wonder what in the world has happened to America? The truth is that the America that so many of us once loved so much has been shattered into a thousand pieces. The “land of the free and the home of the brave” has been transformed into a socialized Big Brother nanny state that is oozing with corruption and has accumulated the biggest mountain of debt in the history of the world. The greatest economic machine that the world has ever seen is falling apart before our very eyes, and even when our politicians actually try to do something right (which is quite rare) the end result is still a bunch of garbage. For those who still love this land (and there are a lot of us) it is heartbreaking to watch America slowly die. The following are 50 random facts that show just how dramatically America has changed…. #50) A new report released by the United Nations is publicly calling for the establishment of a world currency and
